Silver Spring Historical Society
The mission of the all volunteer Silver Spring Historical Society (SSHS) is to create and promote awareness and appreciation of downtown Silver Spring's heritage through the preservation and protection of historical sites, structures, artifacts and archives.
Carpe Diem Arts
Carpe Diem Arts is dedicated to serving diverse audiences with quality arts experiences, representing a broad range of cultural traditions and artistic disciplines. Activities include arts integration in early childhood education, cultural enrichment programs and residencies in schools, ukulele classes, after-school programs, summer arts and language immersion camps, community dances, concert series, monthly family sings, the Daily Antidote of Song, and arts engagement opportunities for all ages in the National Capital region. We partner with other area non-profits to expand our reach and deepen our impact, bringing the visual, literary and performing arts to life in ways that matter and make a difference in building stronger living-learning communities. Rhizome DC
Rhizome DC is a community space dedicated to art, activism, and community power. We provide a home for non-mainstream programming in DC's local artistic and cultural scene through new music, visual and performance art, experimental film/video, immersive theater, interactive installations, experimental poetry, creative workshops, youth programs, and more.
